Dear Carla,
Have you installed Java SDK 1.4.x on your machine?
If so, have you set the 'java' and 'javac' commands
to run your Java installation? When you type these
command:
# java -version
in the bash, is the output something like this:
java version "1.4.x_y"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.x)
...
?
If your answer to one of the above questions is 'no'
then you should download the latest Java SDK package
and install it.
