Dear RoboCuppers,

As RoboCup-2002 draws near, let me draw your attention to the RoboCup
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) web page at
http://sserver.sourceforge.net/NEW/SIGs/.

The SIGs are an important effort to bring together researchers with
common interests across the different RoboCup leagues as well as
outside of the current RoboCup community. They are an explicit effort
to emphasize the true goal of RoboCup, namely discovering and
disseminating scientific advances.

The existing SIGs, launched at RoboCup-2001, are on "multiagent
modelling" and "multiagent learning." There is also a "vision" SIG in
the works.

If you have any ideas for a new SIG, this coming RoboCup would be a
great time to discuss it and to recruit some interest. If you have
any interest, please do take the time to think seriously about
creating a SIG proposal. Instructions for doing so are at
http://sserver.sourceforge.net/NEW/SIGs/.

I look forward to seeing many of you in Japan in a couple of weeks!

Best Regards,

     Peter
