Hi!, i was having a nice vacation so sorry for the late reply. You should
be careful not to confuse the implementation of synchronous communication
with the underlying communication system of the kernel. The kernel just
acts as a `simple' relay station that rebroadcasts messages to other
agents. Synchronisation is part of the communication module of our agents.
The operation of this module was explained in the [communication] chapter.

At the end of chapter [rcrss], you can find some details about the
underlying message system in the kernel (including a very brief discussion
about message arrangement which involves the LONGUDP layer). If each agent
synchronizes with the kernel as described there, then you could probably
say that communication behaves in a synchronous manner.
